This web site is the work of many people
researching the surnames of Dawson, Dehart, and Hooks.
It is constantly being updated with new information.
The Dawsons date back to a Charles David Dawson,
born about 1810 in South Carolina with relatives branching out to Florida, Georgia,
and Texas.
The Deharts date back to John Jackson Dehart,
born 1815 in South Carolina. Census records showing both
of his parents to have been born in Tennesse, but with the boundaries
of early Tennessee going through many changes at this time, it many have been North
Carolina. His descendants branch out to Mississippi and Texas.
The Hooks date back to William Hooks, born about
1608 in England, and migrating to Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi,
and Texas.
